Overview

Metro’s plan for better transit includes extending E Line services further east. The Eastside Transit Corridor Phase 2 project is an approximately 9-mile extension of the Metro E Line further east from its current terminus at Pomona Bl and Atlantic Bl in East Los Angeles to the City of Whittier.
Status
Metro is initiating a process that will allow the project team to seek federal funding opportunities under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) for the first phase of the 4.7-mile E Line extension to Greenwood Station in the City of Montebello.
Metro recently completed community update meetings in January and February, 2025 to engage the community in the project development process. During these meetings, the project team shared a recap of the Final Environmental Impact Report (EIR), work conducted to date and outlined next steps related to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process to allow the project to seek federal funding opportunities.
